Turns out Len is a marine surveyor & former charter fishing boat operator. We mentioned we were hoping to sail out to the reef if we got a suitable weather window. Len very kindly advised us on places to go and places to avoid, gave us a heap of tips, and even GPS coordinates of some anchorages to try. What luck!

Yellow Patch proved just as good second time around as first time. The ever-changing light over the dune is a source of endless delight, as are the sand flats. A full moon brings Spring Tides, while the setting sun illuminates clouds shot with colour. All this can be watched from the comfort of your boat. The rest of this page is dedicated to the beauty that is Yellow Patch.
