Ubiquitous Seagulls hang around the boats at anchor in the hope of scrounging some tucker. We are constantly chasing them off our solar panels as they leave unsavoury deposits and dirty footprints, which reduce our amp-hours. This particular Seagull showed us it wasn’t just a pretty face, by demonstrating landing and balancing skills beyond the norm for birds with webbed feet—it landed successfully and waved about precariously on the end of our Dan-buoy. Although it put on a royal command performance, it received no food from Masala, as this only results in all its friends turning up.

Left & Below: I know I’m not allowed to land on the solar panels, but surely you won’t mind if I try the Dan-buoy? Bet you didn’t think I could do that, huh! Surely such a display of unlikely skill from a web-footed avian deserves a scrap of food? No? You bunch of rat-finks!!
