51. STEPPING THE MAST

Left: the mast is picked up by the crane on top of the travel lift at Western Port Marina. Low tide was needed to get enough height to drop it in through the hole in the deck.

Above, right and below: Masala on her maiden voyage under sail, in Western Port Bay off Hastings. Testing of the sails was done on all points of sailing.
